OldMomOf3 52 Posted March 16, 2015 Anyone else experience immediate and constant heart burn?
Elode 8,093 Posted March 16, 2015 No but I would have had I not been prescribed a PPI did you get a prescription for one? If not you may want to ask. That acid is not good on your new stomach.@@OldMomOf3
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted March 16, 2015 I came to ask the same question as Elode. I was prescribed 40mg of Omeprazole immediately post-op and instructed to take it every day for the first 2 months.
bikrchk 1,313 Posted March 16, 2015 My doc prescribes for the first year. I had to double up, 40 mg at night 40 mg in the AM. It also helped to raise the head of my bed for the first month.
sarahbeth3569 95 Posted March 16, 2015 I actually just called my doctor about this because it's interfering with my Fluid and Protein intake and waiting on a response. I'm Prilosec 20mg. I'm still sleeping sitting up. This morning I took a sip of Water to moisten my mouth and it boiled for about 2 hours. I'm 12 days postop. I do know that a lot of PPI takes a little while to start working. Like 3 days...I hope you get some relief. I've never known GERD like this and have had it since I was 20.
