Weight gain. I was 345lb day of surgery. Six months later was pregnant. Six months later had a baby girl. Abbey. She turns 8 march 29th. Then a year later had a son. Yes surgery for me was weight as well as the gift to a family. Now I am back up by 90pounds. Scared. Any thoughts.

What type of weight loss surgery did you have? If you had bypass you might try the pouch test which allows you to understand if you have stretched the pouch. You can google "Pouch test" or 5 Day pouch test.

It basically has you begin the first week as if you just had your surgery.

I would start by totally going back to the basics. liquid diet. And then introduce high Protein, low carb meals back into your diet. Are you exercising? if not, you have to get back on that horse right away, it will help boost your metabolism.

Also make sure you are getting 64 oz. of Water per day. All of those things will help you get back on track.

Good luck!

I agree I would go back to the basic and restart my liquids, exercise and record all food. Good luck and congrats on your children.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
