branlee90 19 Posted March 14, 2015 I'm 17 days post op and I had to be caffeine free a few days prior but I'm having the hardest time waking up in the mornings and I was wondering what you all do to help wake up in the am?
Veronica Page 488 Posted March 14, 2015 I don't know what your doctor said to you but since I was getting in a really great amount of fluids in I was able to take in caffeine. I have not hard coffee pre say but I do drink tea. Otherwise you are going to have to learn to live. I actually still have a hard time waking up due to the fatigue from lack of food at times. CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted March 14, 2015 I am allowed one caffeinated beverage a day, but I usually don't have but maybe 2 or so a week. And then it is usually iced tea. I have found that since my carb intake is so low (carbs always make me SOOOO sleepy), I don't need the caffeine like I used to. Are you getting in enough Protein? I start the day, even before I let the pups out, by doing some good stretches, gets the blood going (but not to vigorously!!) so I don't injure myself by moving too fast too soon (I have arthritis issues, and serious back issues, as well). By the time I'm done (about 5-10 minutes), I'm ready to start the day.
