Cheater cheater, pumpkin pie eater

Recommended Posts

Actually it wasnt pumpkin pie (but i WISH I had some pumpkin pie!). Yesterday, day 2 of pre op diet, i broke down and ate 2 slices off kraft cheese. It was wonderful and I dont really feel guilty about it lol. I know I shouldn't be flippant about it but i have 21 days of this to endure!

Super hard to stick with it but def do the best you can. We have all been there. The most important thing I believe is to make sure the last week you don't break down and slip back into solids before surgery. You want to be as healthy as possible def helps with recovery! Good Luck!

When it's time for my surgery, I too need to do three weeks, I'm not gonna judge, I too will most likely slip up, all you can do is pick it back up the second after you slip and resolve to do better. Slip ups are always going to happen - we are only human

Yeah and this is difficult though it feels like it has got a little easier. Emphasis on a little.

I just posted that I had a few little slip ups (small piece of cheese and a small crumb of bread). You have a much more supportive audience than I did! We can do this. No judgment from me!

Hang in there! You can do this! Mine thankfully was only a week so not so bad. If you find that you are having a hard time handling it, you might want to reach out to your nutritionist to request the addition of some lean Protein.

I was not required to do a three week diet, only a two week one. I choose to start early so I could get into the hang of it. I have slipped up a couple times. Nothing crazy, just not on my plan. I do think it is important to follow what our Drs have given us to follow, but as mentioned before, we are human. mistakes will happen! Forgive and move on, try to do better. I will say I have lost about 12 pounds over the last couple weeks ???? since I am seeing the scale move it does make me more motivated!! Good luck!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
