Well maybe...but not this lol! I don't care to eat either but you just have to make yourself. I have good days and not so good days. I can't tell you if it will Come back or not but it's likely it will.

I don't want food either. I basically eat for nutritional purposes and to keep losing weight. Nothing even sounds good. A few weeks back before surgery it was a totally different story.

I am 3 weeks out and I basically eat for the nutrition. Really not wanting to eat anything. But you need something so try. Good luck.

Even though my body's hunger signal pretty much disappeared after surgery, I knew that I needed to eat and that I had to try. This isn't about wanting to eat...you need to to eat to live. You need to try and if eating is too much for you emotionally or physically, please talk with a professional.

Eat on a timer. If/when your appetite comes back, it will be a good habit to have, because it will keep you from grazing and snacking. Just set an eating schedule and stick to it.

@@VGB - I hit that point at about a month. It eventually went away, but every so often I have days where I really don't want to be bothered with food.< /p>

You have to make yourself eat. Just eat a little something every few hours. It gets better.

No! I don't want to want to eat but I don't want to spend my life just drinking Water and Protein shakes.

Trust me, you won't. Make it a new habit to eat on a schedule, measured amounts, at regular intervals. Retrain your body to eat healthy REAL foods instead of grazing on crap all day.

Your appetite will come back. Hopefully it will never come back at the level it was, but you will enjoy food again. :)

I'm four weeks out and feel the same way. I only eat to get my nutritional needs. I'm never hungry but eat to stay healthy. Tough journey but we can do it!!!!

As with everything else that happens early on post-op, this too shall pass.

I didn't want to eat or drink postop, either. It was all such an unwanted chore. But I MADE myself eat and drink to maintain my hydrations, Protein levels and overall health. Finally at around 4 months out I started enjoying food again. Like VSGAnn2014 said, this too shall pass. You will feel completely different in a few months. And then you will feel differently from that a few months later. The first year is constantly changing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
