Last question :)

Are any of you able to eat lean cuisines? I have three little kids and I don't ahve time to be making me something different everytime I cook for them, so I figured I would drink lots of shakes (which I love) and was hoping that when I couldn't eat what they were eating, I owuld have a lean cuisine.

I take Lean Cuisines or their equivalent(Smart Ones, Healthy Choice, etc.) to work all the time for lunch when I don't have time to whip up tuna salad or something else. Some people don't think it's good due to sodium, etc., but I think it is better than so many other things I could put down my throat! It is all measured and usually has a serving or 2 of veggies, so I say go for it.

I may eat a lean cuisine or similar if its takeaway for dinner, but that's not often.

My kids arent so little anymore (11, 9 and 4) but honestly, I was always too lazy to make different meals so they learned to eat what we ate from a really early age - and I take the view that if I oughtnt to be eating what they are - if its full of fat, sugar or salt - then they shouldnt be eating it either. We just have healthy meals that the whole family can eat.

Not that I'm at all critical of a lean cuisine, but really, you have to learn to blend this in with your family and make your family diet healthy, you cant live a lifestyle of eating differently to them.

Sure, lots of people eat them. There is a South Beach one that I really like.

It's chicken with some sort of spaghetti sauce on it with broccoli. It's really good. Just try to get one that doesn't have a lot of Pasta, rice noodles, etc.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
