I am having RNY on May 4th. My biggest concern right now is having extra sagging skin. Any tips on how to minimize or avoid this?

Exercise is the only thing I csn suggest. I am 5 months post op tomorrow, have lost 78lbs and definitely have some sagging, I have been really good with cardio and am now starting a weight/resistance program to help alleviate the sagging. I refuse to have skin removal surgery. Good luck!

Don't know your age or current size and future goal. But, if you lose a lot, you WILL have sagging skin; more so if you're older. Plastic surgery is the answer. If you're young, some of it might snap back.

I agree with the above comments it depends on where you carry your weight and your age as well as exercise plays a great role in this I exercise 5 days per week and i look great in clothes but still have saggy skin in my stomach area I am currently preparing to meet with my plastic surgeon to discuss options but I know I must be a year to a year in a half out. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
