tmlawson 4 Posted March 13, 2015 My surgery is Monday March 16 and I must say that I am getting nervous but excited at the same time. My major concern is losing my hair. I've heard that can happen . Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?
Elode 8,093 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Yes it happens...a lot there's really not a whole lot you can do. My surgeon said take my Vitamins and add zinc. I've been doing that and Biotin but it didn't help me. You could be One of the lucky ones though. If it's any consolation I would do the surgery over again in a hear beat. hair will grow back. Hopefully my waist line won't! Edited March 13, 2015 by Elode

JamieLogical 8,710 Posted March 13, 2015 Take your Vitamins, get your Protein, and pray. My Hair loss started around 3.5 months post-op and only really lasted about a month and a half. It never really got to the point where it was noticeable to anyone else. My husband only noticed because the bathroom was COVERED in hair. Didn't take long for the new baby hairs to sprout up and now that I'm almost 6 months out, my baby hairs are over an inch long. So, it does grow back! MrsSugarbabe 727 Posted March 13, 2015 @@tmlawson - The hair loss can be a bit worrisome, but it will grow back. My experience is similar to @JamieLogical. No one else seems to notice that my hair is considerably thinner than it was 4 months ago, but I do and my husband does. Just know that YOU WILL NOT GO BALD...lol!! ViciousVixen 35 Posted March 15, 2015 I just got my approval and date and hair loss is also one of my bigger concerns. I was told to drink and get my Protein in as well as take the Vitamins. Hopefully we will both keep our hair but if not maybe we can do those super sexy pixie cuts!

Would you rather have slightly thinner hair for a few months or be fat for the rest of your life?
