Jodie,

I pm'd you my email address.

I'm very sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time. This too shall pass.... I know that sounds too easy right now, but it will get better, you will move on and you will be a better person because of it. Trials and Tribulations build character. You sound like a very strong woman, if you've been expecting this and have been living unhappily for a year now, then you're due some happiness. Get through this time and you'll realize how this whole situation changed your life for the better.

Hang in there!!

Trials and Tribulations build character.

Amen!!!!!

I am so very sorry to hear of this.

Has things been worst since your surgery?

As I read your 2nd response I noticed you mentioned him "sabotaging" you since you were banded. Something came to mind..... about 2 weeks after surgery my hubby was acting really weird. It took about another 2 weeks for him to open up and be absolutely honest with himself and me as to what his problem was. He would magnify any little ordeal into a MAJOR arguement, VERY sensitive - snap my head off for nothing.

Getting to the point, we realized that he was scared. Scared I would lose 100 pounds and leave him for another - better man! I realized that he was acting this was out of self defense....... Maybe your hubby is on the same planet as mine WAS on.

this is just food for thought (sorry about the pun).

Anyway, I agree with Tricia about trials and tribulations building character (awsome words) and know that time heals everything... well, MOST things!

God bless~

I'm gonna take this on a different spin and say congradulations to you. He probably did you the world's biggest favor, because now that the initial shock is over you can begin healing physically, emotionally, spiritually, and band-ularly all at once. Good luck to you during your fresh start. It might seem horrible now, but keep asking yourself where you'd be in five years if you were still with him. If there was no hope for your relationship, then you'd have wasted five years being unhappy, when instead this should be a time of celebration and success. Take it easy on yourself and enjoy your new life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
