starrspunn 197 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm starting my liquid diet today. My surgery is on March 26th 2015 so I'm starting my two week liquid diet today. Can't believe I will be having surgery in two weeks. I'm excited and scared st the same time. Been trying not to think about it too much cause I was having trouble sleeping. Drinking Premier Protein shakes, chicken broth with GENEPRO mixed in, sugar free Jello, zero calorie poweraid, and Water. Yum yum Hope it goes by quickly and smoothly. amysue512 18 Posted March 15, 2015 I'm on day 2 of 3.... I check in for surgery Monday morning the 16th at 5:30am! I don't have to do Clear Liquids, so I've been drinking Premier Protein drinks, Low Cal G2 and Water. I looked at the chicken broth but I don't want to have that much sodium. But, if I had to do 2-3 weeks of liquid diets I'd do it. I got V8 juice from costco but thought I'd better wait on that until after surgery even though I don't have to do clear liquids.< /p> Good luck to everyone, were in the home stretch now! jjwhitman 19 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) On my liquid diet I was able to have Tomato Soup, Soups with a cream base, French onion Soup, Jello made with fruit juice, smoothies, and anything without chunks. My surgeon had me substitute one meal with liquid starting 3 weeks out, 2 meals on second week before, and then three liquid meals a day the week before. I didn't have to do total clear until 1 day prior. I had gastric bypass on 12/16/14, and had absolutely no complications. My liver was shrunken, so the liquid diet did work. Good luck! tanya131313 5 Posted April 10, 2015 Today I just started my 2 weeks liquid diet and my surgery is April 23rd. Question? My friend had bypass done in February and she told me that was ate hard boiled egg whites (no yolk) throughout the 2 week liquid diet. She said her surgery was fine and the doctor said everything looked good. Has anyone else tried egg whites or other alternatives?
