Have you ever just gotten bored with eating?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I should say bored with trying to find something you want to eat.

Tired of chicken, fish, turkey, and eggs. The only red meat I like is ground meat.

Tried Protein Bars for when just nothing sounded good, but those turned out to be (can't think of the term) something that started causing cravings.

I eat greek yogurt for lunches at work.

May just have to make me a chart with meats to eat for that day instead of trying to think of something that sounds good.

trust me you are describing me perfectly except i have a shake for lunch most work days. but yep eating is now getting boring it is no longer something i look forward to. Which i guess is part of how we get past the need to eat for fun or to eat for taste etc. so i understand it. But yep it is very boring lol

Are you making the Proteins with any sort of spices and sauces? Are you combining them with vegetables? Are you using different cooking methods? Most western recipes start with one of those Proteins. I can't imagine how you could get bored of them unless you're just eating them plain.

I find it more difficult to eat out to find something that's worth eating. When I cook my own food, I always look forward to it...but I generally make just what I want.

Yes, spices are the way to go! Think of the type of food you like (Mexican, Asian, Italian...), then go to the grocery and load up on spices for those particular delights. You can research them on the internet if you don't know which ones to buy. I like mixing different spices together to come up with some pretty interesting combinations. You can also find MILLIONS of recipes for ways to use those spices on the internet, I like FoodNetwork. But there are so many sites for recipes, you shouldn't have any trouble. Cooking for me is fun, and you can freeze in individual portions what you don't want to use right away. Just pull out of the freezer, heat and eat!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
