itwillworkout 0 Posted March 11, 2015 I am post by 7 days. The day after surgery, I went to the ER for intense chest pains. These still reside. I don't get full, instead I eat until I start feeling the chest pains and stop. I'm still hungry but in pain. Is this normal? Is full a feeling that needs to be learned after a few bites? I'm lost. What have you done for the reflux?
B-52 7,113 Posted March 15, 2015 No that is not normal, IMO....eat till you get chest pains? NO.... I was not allowed to eat s close to surgery but had to follow a post-op plan of Clear liquids, then heavier liquids, then mushie foods, and so on . Took at east 1 month before I returned to "Normal" solid foods.... As far as reflux, what did your Dr./surgeon say? You did call him, right? I also had chest pains as the gas/air from surgery migrated up through my cavity to my left shoulder...at times it was hard to even breathe. And I was not allowed to eat at this point so I cannot relate the two.
newmein2015 13 Posted March 18, 2015 You must transition back to solid food! I couldn't imagine trying to eat solid food 1 week post op. Eat very soft food for now until you have time to heal.
