How often do you weigh yourself?

Recommended Posts

I weigh every single morning and I have for almost every day of my adult life. After the sleeve, I was religious about weighing every morning. This is especially helpful to me now because I see immediatey when I may be gaining and I can take steps to fix the problem right away. For example this week I gained 2 pounds one day, so the next day I was extra strict on my diet and those two pounds were gone the next morning. If I waited a week to weigh myself, it would have taken far more energy and time to get back on track.

I weigh myself twice a month, I started weighing each day and of course that slows down. I decided that I needed to focus on my journey not a number, it has been great for me! I think that everyone has to find what works for them

I log my weight once a week but I do check the scale 1/2 way through the week

I weigh myself every Monday morning...first thing. Then, I log it in my MyFitnessPal App and move on. I don't obsess over it but it's a good barometer of my progress. Keeping it to once per week seems to be enough. I would think that daily weigh ins would lend themselves to fluctuations and could be discouraging. But, whatever works for you is best.

During the weight loss phase, I stuck to weighing every Friday morning. Any more than that would have made me crazy. I should have kept a weight log, but I didn't, darn it. I can retrieve some of the information from MyFitnessPal, but I didn't start using that site until I was more than 1/2 way to goal.

Now that I am in maintenance, I weigh every morning. I don't want to get too far off track before I do a course correction.

I don't even own a scale, so I weigh myself in the doctors office or at work when I get a chance. I weighed about 6 times in the first 3 months. After that I weighed once/week so I had something to log on my ticker and the BP challenges. Lately, however, I've forgotten to weigh (maintenance is boring), so it's maybe twice/month.

I weigh myself every morning. I only record my weight if it changes - I use an app called TactioHealth, it works well with my Fitbit which I sync every few days to ensure data as a whole is up to date.

I weigh myself and log it every Saturday morning. In the beginning right after surgery I was weighing everyday but I started to drive myself insane with getting on the scale. It became an obsession. I still obsess over getting on the scale but it definitely isn't as bad as it was since I am only weight once a week.

From my surgery until I was 10 lbs. from goal I weighed once a month. Once I was 10 lbs. from goal I started weighing twice a week. I will probably continue the twice a week after I reach goal to make sure I am keeping on track.

Once per week during my loss phase and now in maintenance. No more, no less and I always log it in MFP as an accountability measure. I found it helped me stay focused on more important goals, (exercise, Protein, etc) rather than being motivated by the scale alone. It also masks most "stalls" if you're only weighing once per week. I think I had a couple weeks I didn't lose but most weeks I'd lose at least a pound, (a loss is a loss)! So I never felt "stalled". It's kinda funny now when I get "likes" from my MFP friends for losing a pound as I bounce around in my maintenance zone. I'd go to once per month but I'm afraid I'll forget and get complacent. This way I know every Saturday, that's the routine.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
