Indieflickers 298 Posted March 10, 2015 Hi! I'm new to this forum. I'm a month out from gastric bypass and I wanted to weigh in. The scale I had said I'd gained 36lbs in 2 weeks! Seeing as how I've lost several inches I don't think that's accurate. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a decent scale that's not outrageously expensive? joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 10, 2015 This is the one I bought about 4 years ago. It's still running on the same batteries. It's only a scale, no bells and whistles like memory. It has served me well. $36.99 http://www.amazon.com/Eatsmart-Precision-Bathroom-Technology-440-Pounds/dp/B0032TNPOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424191655&sr=8-1&keywords=400+lb+scale
CC197823 42 Posted March 10, 2015 I just bought the one my local pharmacy, Walgreens, had. It works fine and matches the weight I am when I see the doctor.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted March 11, 2015 When I had my surgery my husband went on Jenni Craig. They sold a scale there and I love it mostly because it is very accurate and matches what my doctors scale says.
Sharpie 3,306 Posted March 11, 2015 I bought a healthometer from Walmart, the nice part is it takes a 9 volt battery nothing fancy. inexpensive and very accurate. it's digital.
beachgurl84 456 Posted March 11, 2015 I use the fitbit flex and fitbit aria. Pricey but worth it for the tracking methods.
TEXASLADY52 264 Posted March 11, 2015 Have you had any problems with your FitBit scales? The reviews on Amazon is not good and I have been hesitant in buying one?
beachgurl84 456 Posted March 11, 2015 @@TEXASLADY52 I haven't had any trouble. I love it! The only down side is it does not "remember" networks. So if you travel with it, you have to set up the wireless every time, even if you've been there before. My cousin has one and hasn't had any trouble with hers either. HappyChic 32 Posted March 19, 2015 We have a withings scale. I love the app that goes with it for tracking my weight, heart rate & food intake.
p1Sz 52 Posted March 23, 2015 I also use withings scale. The app provides a great chart that shows moving average for your weight loss and fat loss. Helps you see that things are moving in right direction even if one particular day scale says you're up a pound or two. Here's my chart. You can use the app w/o the scale. Other similar apps are Happy Scale and the Hacker's Diet at fourmilab.com.
anaxila 501 Posted March 27, 2015 Have you had any problems with your FitBit scales? The reviews on Amazon is not good and I have been hesitant in buying one? I have a Fitbit Aria scale too and I love it! No issues at all, perfectly matches the doctor, and very reliable.
amazon 579 Posted March 28, 2015 I also broke down and replaced my scale a few months ago. The scale I had was only a few years old, but the weight would change simply by stepping off and back on again. Also the last time or two it was about 8 lbs. off (lower) from the drs. scale. I bought the Aria scale (I have a Fitbit). I LOVE it. I know the fat % is not accurate per se, but it gives me a trend. It also gives me the same reading if I check it twice in a row. At my last check up, my dr. scale was 2 lbs. higher, which makes sense since I was dressed. :-) I know they're not cheap but I'm actually happy with a scale, lol.
