Unjury shake questions

Recommended Posts

Hey all ...I'm still waiting for insurance approval but I have been playing around with different shakes. I really like the Unjury but I have not tried the unflavored kind. My question is has anyone added that to a drink? Such as suger free lemonade or any kind of drink? I know they offer a strawberry for that but I have not tried. I'm not a big fan of that flavor. I know u have to drink drink drink an get that Protein in an was just wondering what I could put the unflavored unjury in.....any thoughts would be great.

I didn't notice anything funny about it. And the whole family ate it without thinking anything was different.

It does make a drink taste different, but it wasn't terrible. But, very noticeable.

I have not added to Water or juice, just Soup. It was fine. I've also tried the Unjury chicken broth and added to existing chicken broth and that was interesting but not in a bad way. I think Unjury products are good. I like everything I've tried. They are my top three choices. Good luck.

I have used the Unjury unflavored in a smoothie mix (Unjury, 8oz milk and a couple of berries) and mixed in with Crystal Light. It looks a bit strange, but it tastes alright.

My favorite shake flavor by unjury is chocolate splendor. As far as the unflavored, yuck. But, I was using it in my post op period in the liquid stages. I got to where I couldn't mix it in things myself and still drink it. It smelled gross to me. I couldn't even drink Protein shakes for a while post op.

I was warned that things I liked preop I might not like post op and I didn't believe it! Well, believe, and good luck to you.

And in rereading your post, I don't recommend Unjury strawberry. Gag. Srsly, add unflavored to your broths or thinned cream Soups post op. It's good that you're trying all of this out now though! I ordered their sample or starter pack. Good way to try out unjury.

Great thank you so much....unjury so far is my fav...i love the chicken flavor. I do have other powders an ready drinks on hand as well just incase I don't like something. I did find these Lil Protein Shots there like 3oz. By pro balance 15g of Protein strawberry flavor. It was not bad at all. Also by the same company they have another 1 that's 28g for 3oz an im hoping they taste great to. I'm not a big fan of strawberry but that tasted like real strawberry not fake. Keeping fingers crossed the 28g is as good as the 15g. ....thanks again for all your input. Very much appreciated. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
