Heys all. I'm in Tucson. How are the newbies doing? I was sleeved 2/26/14. 98 lbs down. Hit 100 lbs gone but have fallen off the wagon recently. Gotta get back on. Would love to touch base with locals.

Hi. I was sleeved March 2011. Lost 95 pounds but recently gained back 15 :( looking for a support group or even just a few of us who can meet to help each other stay motivated here in Tucson...for those who've been sleeved and struggling to "maintain" having someone going through the same thing would help tremendously!!

Sleeved on 8\5\15, lost 27lbs so far. Located on the east side of Tucson. Anyone interested in getting together to walk, hike, workout as a group? I need to get more motivated to get out and move. Been struggling with meeting my daily intake goals. How did everyone else deal with eating and your daily intake goals?

Hello I'm near Marana. I had surgery this last week Sept 2nd. It's been good just super soar, I think the hardest part was going to the grocery store and not buying everything I would usually buy but it's all a mind game at that point. I'm down 12lbs and I'm supposed to return to work tomorrow so we will see how that goes. I feel extremely fatigue but I've been up and walking little here and there since the dr said not to do extreme walking or exercises until he sees me at post op. I've found lots of yummy Protein Shake recipes so that's what really has helped me get through the second stage. I had the lap band previously and never experimented with shakes just bought a premade one I liked and got tired of it after a week or so, so I'm really glad I found different recipes and so forth through this journey otherwise it would be a struggle to get my Protein in.

I'm a month out and still have son issues with fatigue but it gets better everyday. That's grew that you found shakes that you like, I myself still struggle with shakes but have found a few different ones that I like. I too have been up and moving around as much as possible right out of surgery.

I think finding the right shakes has made it easier especially the right Protein Powder. I found that the ON(optimum nutrition) Protein powder Is the best. After several trial and error runs this one has the least chalky taste and has over 20 flavor a to choose from online. It's a bit pricey but if I have to drink this stuff everyday it's worth it, and a 5lb tube lasts me MONTHS!! I also found that pre-packaging my favorite fruits like strawberries and bananas into individual servings and freezing weeks worth of shakes makes the lifestyle easier. I'm really trying my best this time cause I guess having one failed WLS scares me to have another. If you have any questions on recipes or anything feel free to ask!! I've found lots and made up my own along the way! Today I had a strawberry cheesecake Protein Shake and a almond creme protein shake and yesterday I made a peanut brittle banana protein shake lol I know they sound unhealthy but they are sugar free and fat free products I use and actually turned out pretty yummy!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
