I am two weeks post op. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea during the workup presurg. my pressures run very high on the bipap. I havent used the bipap that much since surg. last night i wore it all night. this am Mr. sleeve isnt liking food. I am wondering if i swallow air at night from bipap and if so could it stretch my sleeve out? like others, i am paranoid that Mr. sleeve will stretch out.... any thoughts?

I used my CPAP for almost a year post-op. I never felt like my sleeve was stretched. I stopped using my CPAP when I was sleeping as well without it as I did with it... about 11 months post-op.

I have since tried sleeping with the CPAP several times in the past year, only to wake up burping and passing so much gas, I couldn't sleep! :P

So, no, I don't think it's possible to stretch your sleeve using a CPAP. There are 2 easy escape routes for the extra air! B)

That's exactly what is going on! I would advise adding Gas X first thing in the morning. I pop a couple of chewables and that really helps. Hopefully once the weight comes off, you can drop that durn machine.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
