9 days post op and I've averaged about 1 lb/day. That seems to be the norm until the introduction of soft foods.

You will stall but don't give up. When you stall I suggest increasing the amount of food you eat. If you aren't going to a gym yet def go.

Even if her surgeon told her what to expect that doesn't mean her body will do that. You all should understand not everyone knows what to expect what is normal what is good what is bad. Just answer people's questions politely or just don't comment at all.... Smh

You should join the feb sleevers page on Facebook, it's much better for advice. It's a secret page, so you have to be added. If you pm me your Facebook address I can ask them to add you :-)

I'm losing about a pound a day. I started my pre-op liquid diet at 276.1 on 2/16 and I weighed in today at 257.1. I was sleeved on 2/23. You're doing fine, just stay the course.

I think so many of us get in our own head about what the "normal weight loss" should be because we've all failed so many times. It's definitely a marathon, not a sprint, and if we follow the program, we will get there! It's totally fine to have this anxiety nikki.

That being said, I'm also a member of the "weigh yourself everyday" club and it is frustrating. I have finally resolved that I will only count my Thursday weigh-ins officially to help me keep track of the actual progress I'm making. So officially, I'm 2 weeks out and have lost 15 pounds, although that number is actually a little lower. Try to think in terms of, "this week I lost X pounds," and that will help you to not feel as discouraged. A pound a day is great! The weight is coming off and you're going to feel so much better in a few months! Big hugs!

Only!! What the heck did you expect? A pound a day is 7 pounds a week, 28 pounds a month! Come on now... Maybe if you want to speed up the process you could cut off your leg or something...

Sorry to be so snarky but I'm honestly wondering if you did any research or talked with your surgeon at all before you had your procedure. If not, please do so. After the first couple of months, your weight loss will slow down to 1-2 pounds per week which is healthy and normal.

For your information i researched this procedure for 2 years and my surgeon told me the % of weight i could expect to lose over a course of a year and I also saved £10,000 of my own money to have this done i am simply putting out a question out there to see if 1 pound a day is the norm or were others losing the same amount at the beginning of their journey too. No need to get annoyed

I am on full liquids and on day 9 post sleeve surgery is it normal to lose only 1lb a day??

What was everyone else losing and can i do anything to speed things up?

It wasn't annoyance Nikki as much as it was disbelief when I read your post... You didn't "simply put out a question to see if a pound a day is the norm." You asked how "to speed things up"... I could not believe that, because you were 9 days out of surgery and surely must be on a dr ordered plan for your recovery, and I wondered when in your life have you ever lost a pound a day (or even a pound a week) for that matter. For me, it's a matter of gratitude. I'm so grateful for this surgery, this new beginning, and the second chance for a healthy life that I wouldn't ever imagine being so lackadaisical about the initial recovery period... I'm sorry if I came across annoyed. I really do hope you will gain a better understanding of how this process is going to work in the upcoming months for you.

I think you are judgemental and very condescending and saying you hope i have a better understanding? For somebody who is on liquids for over a week I thought i would lose more but reading responses for everyone else which was the objective of my post it seems this is the norm for most.

I wish you well on your journey and as suggested by you i will try to re-educate myself so i have the same level of understanding as you.

I wont be posting anymore on the matter and i will definitely think twice before i put my thinking out loud thoughts on here again

I go through occassional posting moratoriums myself. A thread will be going along quite nicely, then takes an abupt run off the road and down an embankment of hostile conflict.

When we post, we have to be aware that opinions and tact will vary. Even at that, I will back off and watch the battle from afar. Being in a forum, we can be completely anonymous and suffer no consequence for hurting someone's feelings or for fat-shaming our own community.

The craziest threads happen when someone admits to cheating or not following their care plan. Boy oh boy, if you want fireworks, tell us you cheated on your diet or that your mate is an a**hat. It will take less than a day for the hornets' nest to explode.

If I don't post every day (14 months post-sleeve), I will still peek in on the forum for its entertainment value. Don't give up on posting your questions and comments. This community has become like family, and we all know that family is messy.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
