joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 7, 2015 I felt the gas pains in my shoulder, on and off for about 7 days. The pains gradually faded.
Doll64 6 Posted March 7, 2015 Mine was on and off until about 5 days post op. Also mine was a dull pain with the occasional sharp pain thrown it.
Airplaneskinny 19 Posted March 7, 2015 I had some 1 week after surgery when I walked around Walmart. I was scared but thought it was the same pain from the hospital and the nurses said it was trapped gas.
Finding-me 5 Posted March 7, 2015 I have NOT had the surgery, but when I had my gallbladder removed the nurse told me hot tea. I HaTe tea but drank it anyway! lol. I think it actually helped. Good luck
Books 29 Posted March 7, 2015 Hi I had my surgery on 25th February and still experiencing shoulder pain, in fact the only pain I've had from my op is this. It is starting to ease up but still cant breath to deep the only thing ive found helps is what one nurse told me and that is to lie flat on your back - seems simple but within 5 10minuts the pain eases up. Hang in there it does get easier
Elode 8,093 Posted March 7, 2015 I punched myself in the shoulder and it went away..no lie. I must have knocked the air out. Whatever it worked instantly though!
lauries03 0 Posted March 7, 2015 Walking around is the best solution to easing gas pain. As you walk you should find eventually you either start burping or expelling gas.
k9nana 50 Posted March 7, 2015 For me the pain radiates deep in my shoulder and up in my neck. It's a stabbing pain. My new sleeve and intestinal track is in pretty good shape, rarely any gas. I am only taking the liquid pain medicine that the doc prescribed for me only at bedtime so I can sleep. It does help I just don't want to take it very often, that stuff can make me nauseous. I know from past experience. As far as any other pain its really not much except for when I sneeze or hiccup. Thank you for sharing your experience with shoulder pain, I'm looking forward to being without that pain.
k9nana 50 Posted March 8, 2015 @@AmyFromCincy My pain is a sharp nagging pain. I did some research on this and it says....... the co2 they fill you with irritates the nerves that are connected with other parts, they share some nerves like in the shoulder. jenbaby75 283 Posted March 9, 2015 My gas pain only lasted about 3 days, but I made myself burp constantly, and walked a ton. I suggest lots of burps, and move your bod. It will help. Those gas pains are no joke!
