cheektowagasleever 6 Posted March 7, 2015 I am pretty new to all this. I have been doing a lot of research that past few weeks and have a consult with a surgeon next week. (Dr Pham, if anyone is from Buffalo and has had him please PM me!). Anyway I had to find a new PCP because mine is now practicing about an hour away. I was worried on what she would say about wanting the surgery and if she would go along with it. I was worried she would want me to try other things under her care first and delay the process. The appointement ended up going great. She at first was a little concerned that I wanted to have surgery when I have no health issues besides joint pain from being overweight. After I told her about all my attempts and the fact that my mothers side of the family has heart and diabetes issues she said she would support this! She told me she would do whatever they needed her to do and after I see the surgeon to let her know. I am relieved that she is in my corner and I believe I made the right choice in a new primary doctor!

Hoven 33 Posted March 7, 2015 That's great. I too have a very supportive PCP. I like knowing I've got someone in my corner looking out for my entire well being.
