Does anyone have the problem with feeling resentful with compliments you recieve from people after you have lost weight. I feel like the comments I get arre really shallow and it makes me angry. Like I wasnt good enough before but I am now just because I lost some weight. The real person whos guilty of this is my husband who cheated on me when I was fatter but now that I am thinner he says hes more in love with me than ever and I am his trophy wife and talks about how all of his friends think I am so pretty. It really bothers me. I told him it did but I dont think he gets it. anyway.. just wondered...

My husband and I laugh our asses off at the assholes who try to pick me up now that I am skinny. These same losers wouldn't have spat in my direction when I was at my highest weight.

I don't take it to heart. Some people are just shallow.

Actually my DH is joking but it pisses me off. He's always making remarks about how I can get my boobs done or get some Lipo on my hips. As if! Bloody accountant - he complains if I buy milk for crying out loud, yet my tits are important to warrant 10 grands worth of surgery? Stupid, shallow, superficial.

Has he looked at his own boobs lately? They're bigger than mine!

Why is it important to him that I look perfect?

Actually if I had cosmetic surgery all I'd want is a chin implant, I have a weak chin that's changed a little with age and I'll probably get that chinless look when I'm older and get jowly. I wont be accepting that I'll definitely be getting some work done on it, probably in a year or two when I start working again, it costs quite little. He laughs at that, like its unimportant, apparently big fake bouncy boobs are way more of an attraction. Men!

When someone comments on my size now I immediately say and I'm healthy now . I try to push what is really important.

I already am a trophy wife...but then again I am probably the vainest fat girl I know. But I am very lucky, I have a husband who loves me very much for who I am not what he wants me to be.

Seriously I just can't wait until I get to the point where I will never again hear "You have such a pretty face if only you could lose weight and have the body to go along with it" It's like you can'y be pretty unless you are a size 6.

I'm with you babygrl...I'm a vain fat chick too. I know I'm no goddess, but I'm a pretty darn attractive fat chick!

I don't know how I'll feel about compliments;. I've lost upwards of 50 pounds in the past, and NO ONE said a word to me about it! I KNOW I looked different because I was down 3 sizes and had curves where rolls used to be. So, if and when the compliments come...I think I'll enjoy them...shallow or not :(

I have a hard time taking compliments--especially from my husband. But he doesn't just give a normal compliment--he acts like a dog in heat! But I've gotten lots and lots of compliments from patients at the dental office I work at. Most of them only see me every 6 months, so it's a big difference. What I don't like though, is when people follow the compliment with--"How are you doing it?" I'm not always comfortable telling people I've had lap band surgery. Some people I'll tell, but others, I just say--eating less and exercising more--which is true. I guess I'd like it better if they just said "you look great" and left it at that.I know--picky, picky!

It goes both ways too of course, I'd love to see Doug shape up a little, but more becuase I'm worried about his health, he's 40, slightly obese, but he's getting much fitter, he's tried to keep up with me over the past year.

Lately I've been training him, lol. He's a lazy git, he'll get on the treadmill but then he just does an easy walk, doesnt push himself, says he wants to run and comes out with me but then stops and walks within a kilometre when I know he has the fitness to do more, he just doesnt like the sensations associated with exercise. And he's gotten fitter but is no longer making fitness gains.

So I've devised a killer circuit and making him sweat his butt off, lol. I'm a bitch, I'm like Jillian, yelling at him, pushing him, I get through it easily and poor bugger he's scarlet and dripping with sweat. But he's OK, not totally overdoing it, but he wants me to force him to work hard.

So I guess I cant complain that he pushes me along to where he'd like to see me as I must admit I do harbour a few fantasies that dont involve man boobs and pot bellies.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
