I am looking for suggestions on ready made Protein Shakes. I travel a lot for work and would like something that is all ready made. I looked at the premiere Protein shakes but those are whey protein concentrate and my doctor says I need whey protein isolate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I like EAS Myoplex Original build muscle chocolate fudge-17oz 42g of Protein and only 1g sugar. I found a 4 pack for $10.25 at Target.

I drink Premier Protein chocolate ready made drinks. I tried a LOT and this one was my favorite. Ask your nutritionist if they have a sample. I've also read where some insurance company's will pay for certain brands of Protein Drinks as well and premier happens to be one of them.

I actually had a very long conversation with my nutritionist and bariatric nurse about Premier Protein ready made shakes. They are a perfectly acceptable solution and give you 30grams of Protein and 1 gram of sugar.

This was their recommendation after I could not tolerate the powdered whey protein isolate. I have been using these since week 2 post op. Recently there was some discussion on this site about RNY patients malabsorbing this particular type of protein. I went back to my nutritionist and shared this info with her. She actually showed me that protein is absorbed lower in the digestive tract. RNY patients do not malabsorb protein. She had a great chart that showed where different nutrients are absorbed, she keeps this chart with her when questions like this come up.

I tried to find a similiar chart on line but will keep looking.

Premiere tastes awful, the vanilla is tolerable.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
