It truly is a struggle. I don't feel as awful now as I did this morning. And everyone says its a breeze around this time and I mean it's not the hardest thing I've ever done... But I definitely have a crazy food addiction.

Day 1 done! So glad I get to eat one meal a day....not sure I could do this if I had to only drink shakes.

Thank you for putting this diary up. I still don't have a surgery date but it is helpful to have an idea what to expect. I need to prepare myself mentally for missing food for months at a time. It makes me want to start devaluing food more even now.

Keep on keeping on. We are here with you.

Day 6:

Easy peasy by the end of the day guys! All is well! My carb flu feeling was gone by last night. And I felt fine! I even had the energy to take my bubble bath, and clean my house!

Day 7:

FINALLY! I have reached that feeling that everyone talks about as far as not being hungry and growing accoustomed to everything. I feel great today, and i'm not tired at all! I have finally come up with a schedule that works for me, it's not quite my doctors schedule but well i'm still getting the same amount of nutrition in that they want me too.

When I wake up: 1 or 2 depending on my hunger level Atkins Carmel Cafe Shake- I add a tsp of Toriani Salted carmel Syrup and shake with ice. I make my own iced coffee! It's delicious.

Around 11:00am- A premier Protein chocolate shake, and a sugar free Jello.

Around 2:30pm: A GNC Lean Shake 25 in swiss chocolate, a sugar free Jello.< /p>

around 6:00: i'll have another shake if I am hungry or if i haven't reached my minimum 80 grams of Protein. I often have about 1-2 Sugar free popcicles.

CHEATING? have i cheated on pre-op. I have, and I did tell my doctor. I have had a total of 4 string cheese sticks the first couple days. and i've enjoyed a sugar free double choclate vanilla pudding cup almost every day. A couple days I blended some frozen strawberries into my shake. HOWEVER. Everything I've cheated with has been healthy.. and not to far off from what I am allowed to have. I'm nowhere near my minimum calorie goal most days of 800, and i've never been close to reaching the 1000 calorie mark. I've also stayed under my carb intake, and I have gotten my minimum protein in. Take it for what it is. :)

Now that I am a week and a day away from surgery I will stick to the liquid only diet from here out. Plus at this point, I'm not even hungry.

Down 8.8 lbs from my starting weight last friday, and a total of about 18 since my highest weight ever!

Up until today it was so hard. I was definately envious of everyone who gets to incorporate food into their pre-op diet.

Day 8:

So i woke up this morning completely exhausted. Like to the point that I almost called into work. I had a headache, a sore throat and a runny nose. So i've been taking dayquil to try and combat it. No getting sick now! This time next week I will be sleeved.

I'm definatly not hungry, but the head hunger is getting to me. It's the weekend and I feel like I can't do anything because I can't go out to dinner or out to eat. I also am not getting in enough Water and I know that. I really need to get it together! Less than a week left of the liquid diet!

10lbs down today!

I actually do better at work, than I do at home. I lose all self control at home! Lol. At least I feel like it, I haven't yet. But who knows.

I'm really trying to stay 100% on plan for the next week. And I do love the change on the scale. But I would also really enjoy some Mexican Food!

A friend who went through the procedure last year recommended that up my walking and activity levels back to normal to help adjust my body to this lower calorie count. I set off today very excited to enjoy the mild weather and fresh snow fall only to experience more bowl issues that this liquid diet had plagued me with. Talk about frustration! This liquid diet cannot end soon enough!

Rant over

That Mexican food craving I had the other day? Back in full force. Lol. I'm also pre menstrual which isn't helping! Lol. I know I have what it takes for a successful surgery.. But I'm also human with food cravings!

I allowed myself a week for a bucket list of food. Mexican was on it. Steak. Greek food. French fries. Wrapping it up today.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
