fatima.mashaal 3 Posted March 4, 2015 Im not sure how others lasted for ten days on a liquid diet but Im on day five and feeling like I need something more or maybe Im bored. So I have had oxygenized Water, smart water, regular water, apple and berry juice with no sugar added watered down, chicken broth, fat free milk with a quarter teaspoon of honey hmmm thats everything I think and am starting to feel like I need more. I have five more days on the liquid diet per my surgeon. How long were you on the liquid diet and did it feel like forever? Thinkingthinner1109 485 Posted March 4, 2015 I was on it for 10 days. I am six months out and now it is just a blip on the radar. I was allowed sugar free Jello. Not sure if that's an option for you. This too shall pass. So worth it in the big scheme of things! Good luck!
fatima.mashaal 3 Posted March 4, 2015 Aaah thanks you are right that was on the list - I should get some. I guess also today I cooked my favorite food for the kids which they love and I suffered watching them eat it. I know why I did this and I know I can do it I guess though it gets hard sometimes. Chele H 427 Posted March 4, 2015 Aren't you having Protein Drinks? How about chicken broth? Sounds crazy but when I sipped it piping hot from a mug, it was sort of satisfying. Decaf coffee or tea?
CC197823 42 Posted March 4, 2015 I was on a clear liquid diet for 5 days then full liquid for the next three weeks. Today is my 1 month surgiversary and have finally went to soft foods. The first week was the hardest. oatmeal was on my full liquid so that helped since the month felt like a year. I also have kids and seeing them eat in the beginning was torture. As the weight comes off and you see progress it all seems to gets easier to get use too! Good Luck you will be fine.
Elode 8,093 Posted March 4, 2015 Ha! I did mine for 14 days. It can get old pretty fast and there's not a whole lot you can do when you have a strict plan like I did (water, Protein Shakes, broth, sf popsicles and jello..thats it) surprisingly I didn't find it too hard (and I NEVER cheated! Not even once!! Can you tell I'm still proud of that lol) I made sure to spread my shakes out and I found some really good broths from Swanson (Thai ginger, egg drop,Mexican tortilla ) so that also helped. You mainly just have to muster up all your willpower and push through. Just keep your eye on the prize! Good luck
frankie152 5 Posted March 4, 2015 Hi, I did 10 days on milk and yoghurt, I was also allowed tea and coffee and sugar free jelly. It was very hard, especially like you said when you cook for kids and husband. I didn't cheat, I'm also very proud of this! Keep it up, it will be worth it, you are half way there. fatima.mashaal 3 Posted March 4, 2015 Well Im supposed be ten days Clear Liquids including fat free milk - so no shakes till after the ten days are up and no yogurt either. I have had clear chicken broth but not too satisfied. I dont know if Im allowed Decaf coffee or tea. I will check on that. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
katcycler 95 Posted March 4, 2015 sugar free Popsicles and sugar free Jello helped to break the boredom. You're halfway there. You can do it!!!
NotSoBigMike 13 Posted March 4, 2015 I did 14 days... Actually thought it was pretty easy after day 2. I was drinking Premier Protein 4x a day, and was allowed sugar free Jello, crystal light etc... I also was very rigid and didn't cheat and it was worth it, lost 24lbs in 14 days. In fact yesterday was one month since I started the pre-op liquids (sleeved 2/17) and I am down 36lbs total. You can do this....
fatima.mashaal 3 Posted March 4, 2015 Well I have lost ten pounds and this is day six after being sleeved. That is exciting. I can do this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chrystee 838 Posted March 4, 2015 You need Protein. If you can't have shakes, they have some dissolvable that you can put into your broth..
fatima.mashaal 3 Posted March 4, 2015 I wasnt told that I need Protein for the first ten days so I will call in to my surgeon in the morning and see if thats okay. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chrystee 838 Posted March 4, 2015 That should say dissolvable Protein. I believe Unjury makes it.
gal friday 176 Posted March 4, 2015 I was on it for about 14 days, although milk, yogurt, Jello, pudding, and cottage cheese were allowed. I was struggling with an unrelated health problem, newly diagnosed, so I honestly slept through most of those 14 days (9 were in the hospital). Honestly, I barely remember it!
