And you can add orange (lemon....) extracts (just a tiny drop, mind you!) to the shakes if you don't want to add extra sweetness, which is what is getting the better of me these days! HMMMMM....how about adding a drop of rum/maple/ALMOND extract to the vanilla shakes? Off to try it, what do I have to lose....oh, only pounds!

Folgers makes some new sugar free flavor drops. I got Caramel and Hazelnut. They also have vanilla and mocha. I like them added to plain Vanilla Protein drinks. Changes it up just a touch.

@@CanyonBaby _ I use Isopure Unflavored. It mixes well with Water (but looks cloudy). I've also used it with diluted apple juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, tea, yogurt and Soup. It can be mixed with hot or cold. 26 gms or whey isolate, with no added sugars or colorings. I've mixed it in a shaker bottle and in the nutra bullet. It blends well with no gritty after taste.

You can't beat the unflavored powders, that's for sure! I'm so glad that is an option, because I'm sure I wouldn't get in nearly the Protein I should without it. For my evening "dose" of Protein, I mix it with "flavor of the moment" drops, my Benefiber, and powdered Calcium citrate...what a cocktail, huh?! I can adjust the sweetness by the number of drops I use, somedays are "sweeter" than others!

isopure!!!! I cannot stomach the powder. Nope. Not happening! Isopure has a variety of flavors. I mix half of a 20oz bottle into my Water bottle. Not GREAT tasting but definitely goes down super easy. For me, it tasted like watered down kool-aid without sugar. No long lasting after taste either.

They are 40g Protein and zero carbs. At GNC it was $5.50 per 20oz bottle or $40 for a case of 12. I love it because you can actually try one without spending a ton of $$ up front plus there is a variety of flavor choices.

Isopure! Vitamin Shoppe sells single bottles for $4 something - even cheaper. Coconut has an almost weak lemonade taste i love. Not cheap but way more bang for your buck on the Protein scale.< /p>

I actually purchased the Orange Cream Protein mix as well & the taste is much better then the vanilla. I started to mix 4oz of OJ with the vanilla Protein Shake to minus out the other flavor. It's been ok... I have been eating some regular food. Sad to say I've still...only loss 10lbs since my surgery on 03.09.15.

I need to be better, but it's so hard!!!!

Thanks for this idea...I am going to try this next. We've wasted alot of money on Protein Shakes that my daughter can't stomach (no pun intended.) My daughter is 1 week post op and has been so nauseated she can barely handle Water let alone Protein shakes. We've tried Isopure (mango,) Muscle Milk, Spirutien, Boost, GNC Pro Performance all mostly all in vanilla or strawberry because she doesn't like chocolate anything.

To those who love Isopure, the Mango Peach is horrible! Do the other flavors taste better?

Does anyone know where we can get one serving pouches of the Protein so we can try before we spend so much money on a large container of powder? I'm out $30 on the GNC powder alone.

Maybe try GENEPRO, found on Amazon.com. It is a tiny scoop (compared to most unflavored whey powders), and you hardly notice it is there. It can be mixed in hot or cold beverages, and has virtually no taste. It has different size packages it comes in, up to 3lbs. And I think it is very reasonable. As for being nauseous, try drinking tepid Water as opposed to cold, so it isn't such a shock to the new tummy. Use the Water Enhancer drops (SOOOOO many flavors to choose from, as well as different brands) to help get in the fluids she needs. This is a life-time thing we need to do for ourselves, so find something you really like. Try mixing different flavors, too. Good luck!

OH! The GENEPRO has 30g of Protein per tiny scoop! Hurray!

I use Jay Robb Egg White Protein Powder. I had issues preop with soy and whey bothering me. I have no issues with this kind and it never upset my stomach.

I am 5 days postop and have been on the powder for 2 days. If you are interested eBay is the best price

Bariatricpantry.com will send you 14 different sample packs of Syntrax Nectars for $19.99.

When I get to missing soda pop (I have not had any for two years), I will mix up a Grapefruit Syntrax with Crystal Lite Lemonade. It tastes bang on like Fresca.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
