All pain is gone except for a little superfishal tenderness like you would have from any incision after a week. Range of motion is pretty much back to normal. I can cough or sneeze without wincing.

Gas problems disippated yesterday. Digestive system feels normal now.

I have posted (with much anger LOL!) about my surgeon's seemingly super-restrictive 2 week clear liquid diet (zero carbs and zero protein). After a conversation with the nurse on Monday she allowed me to move cautiously to yougurt, cottage cheese, etc.

So, I began having just a few ounces...not even to the point of fullness. Just to get something in my system and it has made a TON of difference! It coincided with digestive system normalcy. Lethargy disappeared almost immediately. Anger about the diet is slowly disappearing (although I'm gonna have a "come to Jesus" with my surgeon when he gets back from vacation).

I plan to hit the treadmill with moderation today...just to break a sweat.

Funny thing about the diet and psychology: As soon as she gave me permission to have a little soft stuff I felt I could recommit to liquids somewhat. Meaning, I won't have soft stuff every meal. I'll still do Clear Liquids frequently. Just knowing I have control -- or an option -- makes all the difference for me.

All in all, life feels pretty darn back to normal today!

Funny you say that, i'm the same, I am 10 days post op & my nurse said as I heal v well & feel v settled I can try some mushies, in moderation, I immediately went back to the shakes & yoghurt after trying a bit of Pea & Ham soup!!

Must be psychological but i am airing on the side of caution xx

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
