joego2014 14 Posted March 1, 2015 I will be having the sleeve done on May 6th and am looking forwards to finally getting it done. Its been a long journey getting to this point and just want it done. My question is that I always enjoyed contact sports when I was fit and trim in my youth. I am looking forwards to getting back in shape and was concerned about contact after being sleeved. Since staples are used is there any risk for the site to open up after a year or so of healing? I hear about leaks sometimes so was just concerned. If anyone can answer I would appreciate it. I am looking into kickboxing/krav maga classes to help weight loss and to help with cardio once I lose significant weight and am able to participate. loriemoms 101 Posted March 1, 2015 I don't kick box but I lift 50 to 70 lbs all day long and never had any issues. I of course had to allow it to heal and I would give it a few months. Maybe start with walking etc. Njoy!
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted March 2, 2015 @@joego2014 I'm an adrenalin junkie. Very active and no issues with my sleeve. You might want to check with your surgeons office to get good info on complications for sleeve years out.
