Evening time snacking

Recommended Posts

I need help. I've done well on my weight loss but am now beginning to be concerned. I've never been an evening snacker until after my first fill on April 29. I can go all day with my meals and Protein Drinks and Water. But after I eat supper it seems like I just sit around and try to think of things I can eat that are on my plan and I'm not hungry. I think of the food and then go get it, like almonds, sugar free fat free ice cream, fruit, veggies, whatever. It's all good for me food but I'm not hungry and it would be better for me to not eat it at all. Anyone else like that. If not would you all please just kick my b*** so I'll stop. I could just go to bed but I hate to start that right after supper .

Sounds like boredom kicks in. Go for a walk if you're able to. Sometimes when I sit around and get the munchies I make a cup of coffee (decaf) and it tends to quell the temptation. If you have to have something get the sugar free Jello cups and have 1 or 2 of those. Only 10 cals.

Have you tried the old trick of brushing your teeth right after dinner, then if you get the urge to "eat"....grab the floss!!! Some say it works---what have you got to lose to try it!!??

I wish that my night time snacking was based on eating fruit, veggies and other "good stuff". Unfortunately, I am noticing that while at first I was reaching for a string cheese and a 100 calorie pack....I am now reaching for sweet bread, chocolate and other junk. I know it's easy to say keep occupied, because if I did that myself, maybe I wouldn't be into this snacking phase that I've been in. So, if walking or exercising isn't an option for you right now...I'm leaning towards agreeing with you that you should just head to bed. I think I should follow your lead on that....

Good luck and know that (unfortunately) you're not alone on your Snacks...

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
