greatestnameever 49 Posted February 28, 2015 I'm just over 4 weeks out and I've noticed that over this past week I've felt almost no hunger at all. I know that's a big part of the surgery and everything, BUT forcefeeding myself hasn't been super fun but I don't want to be malnourished. I've tried reverting back to liquids and no matter what I consume I feel nauseated. No vomiting, though. Has anyone else experienced this?
mhuntoon 21 Posted February 28, 2015 Yes, I find myself eating because I *have* to eat, not because I'm hungry. I had my surgery on 1/13, so I'm a little ahead of you. I'm hoping that by keeping up with the Vitamins, Calcium, etc and trying to get my Protein close to 80g each day will keep me from becoming malnourished. bewell 222 Posted March 1, 2015 Yes, at first I was nauseated just thinking about eating. I also vomited very few days from eating 3 tablespoons of food intend of 2. It's getting better now. The nurse told me that I can eat something that irritates my stomach and cause it to swell a bit creating less room for food. A couple of times I've had to go back on all liquids to quiet things down. She also told me it's pretty hard and pretty unlikely to be get malnutrition. I have also found that one day I feel hungry and then the next few I'm not. Best wishes to you!
