pink dahlia 2,513 Posted March 3, 2015 I was banded Dec, 2011 at age 53. Best Christmas present I could of ever given myself. Being back to a stronger healthier body is priceless !!! My only regret is that I didn't know about a Lapband sooner . I feel freaking fabulous in my 50's !!!! Go for your WLS, you're never too old ! 45 ? You're a baby !!! Go for it !!! Jim1967 3,569 Posted March 3, 2015 My band surgery took place 6 months prior to my 45th birthday.....
gabrielle2014 38 Posted March 3, 2015 I had surgery a few months before my 45th bday! Not alone. And honestly I think its really made me more sure of things and more ready. Even though I'm struggling at the moment, so many things in my 20s and 30s would have effected this change.
Stevehud 1,790 Posted March 3, 2015 Im 44 and had my surgery 7 days before my 44th birthday. SO its not rare at all. Obesity affect so many, from all walks of life , races, creeds and ages. As surgery is more widely available ( not widely enough) we see a wider variety of ages.

swimbikerun 1,046 Posted March 3, 2015 @Goatfarmer You guys ROCK! There is NO excuse not to get healthy at ANY age. Yeah! Love seeing people who "break the mold" and defy the conventions. 1 4TheHealthOfIt reacted to this
Sunshine_Gal 68 Posted March 3, 2015 @@Goatfarmer - It's nice to see someone close to my age here as well. And what I think we both forgot to mention, is that we are only 65 and 66 in number, inside we are still young chicks and soon to prove it when our outside catches up to the inside. I so agree with all comment. It's never too late to take hold and change your lifestyle and the course of your health. 1 4TheHealthOfIt reacted to this
Truckerchic 171 Posted March 4, 2015 I wish I had done it sooner, I tried but wasn't in the cards. I was 44 now 45. I was expecting stretch marks and hanging skin but I was not prepared for WRINKLES!! Lol I had always looked young for my age and almost over night when from smooth wrinkle free baby face to well my mother, I know it sounds vain but it does bother me a bit. I'm not overly pretty but I passed for cute now I'm a wrinkled mess but thin. Can't have it all, I'll take thin! 1 4TheHealthOfIt reacted to this

ladypoohbear 123 Posted March 4, 2015 Hello I had my gastric bypass at 53 yrs old and doing awesome except for the normal PAIN....never too old to take care of yourself.
Sharpie 3,306 Posted March 4, 2015 Had my band surgery 2 years ago at age 66, I don't think you are ever too old to get healthy. I tell friends and family, I wasn't going to ever model swimsuits but I will probably live a healthier life for whatever time I have left. My main goal in getting weight loss surgery was to get rid of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I was on a collision coarse with serious health issues and I wanted to change course If you are ready to make a change, age doesn't matter. 1 4TheHealthOfIt reacted to this

hillgirly 228 Posted March 4, 2015 I'm 54, was 53 when I was sleeved last May. Would have liked to get it done 10+ years before, but knew I didn't want the band and really wasn't comfortable with the thought of the bypass. So, by waited was able to choose the sleeve - and am sooooo happy I did!
