Dualstarr 104 Posted February 28, 2015 I'm so excited I could scream!!!! I'm still going to have to wait another 6 weeks because I had a positive hpylorie test, but that's okay, at least I'm done with the class and one step closer to surgery... I can deal with that. Plus it gives me 6 weeks to tie up lose ends
Susan909 52 Posted March 1, 2015 Wonderful news! I went thru Kaiser for my surgery and did the options classes too. I had surgery last Dec. I was miserable for two weeks after surgery then it turned around and now I'm feeling great and losing wt just fine. I highly recommend the after surgery support classes that Kaiser offers. Where will your surgery be done?
Dualstarr 104 Posted March 1, 2015 How long after class did you have surgery? I'm having my surgery at Harbor City
Susan909 52 Posted March 1, 2015 I had my surgery about 8 weeks after classes ended. It all went rather quickly. They told us at the last class to expect 4-6 month wait.
Dualstarr 104 Posted March 2, 2015 Wowzers...8 weeks is fast lol. I wanted fast...but not that fast lol. I have a few trips coming up in May and June so I am hoping for July or August. My birthday is in August so I figure it might be a nice birthday gift for myself How has it gone for you since surgey? Do you attend any kaiser support groups? Susan909 52 Posted March 2, 2015 I do attend a monthly support group and its interesting. I enjoy going and talking to the others. Some are only a few mos out like me others a year or more. I had a hard time right after surgery getting in Protein and even Water. It lasted about two weeks then it all became easier. I'm going great now. I've lost 39 lbs so far. I'm hardly ever hungry. I rely on the Protein Drinks as my stomach gets upset easily with food. That has gotten somewhat better but there are many things I can't tolerate. I asked my surgeon if I could delay my surgery for a few months but he said NO. I had to go with Kaisers schedule. I don't regret it now. I'm glad it's behind me. This surgery is life changing, in a good way.
