I am 10 weeks out and I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! It hasn't been a walk in the park everyday, some foods my stomach hates now but I know it's just part of the process. I am down 55 lbs so far. It amazing to see the scale go down consistently.

I took 6 weeks off but didn't really need to. I felt a lot better after 3 weeks or so. My main problem was just being really tired.

congrats on your success! :)

Thank you for sharing! I am still waiting for approval, but I cannot wait to be on the other side. I also intend to take off 6 weeks, even if it is just to get my mind wrapped around the eating, drinking and Vitamin taking schedule. In my job, I tend to be dragged to meeting after meeting, without concern over "did I get a break or lunch" today. One day I told my department manager I wasn't going to attend one of the meetings, because I didn't get my lunch. She said....I never get my lunch, it's one of the sacrifices you have to make to be a manager here, (my doc would not agree). So, at least I will be able to have a Protein shake or something in a case like that. But you can probably understand why I want the full 6 week.s I need to de-stress too. And Congratulations on your success. You are an inspiration!

That's amazing. I am in the beginning stages myself and I can't wait to see the scale move. How long did it take you to recover?

I took six weeks off but felt a lot better at about week 4. The incision pain was what bothered me the most. That and sleepiness.

I don't know why the first post is on here 3 times lol

Not having a lunch break stinks! You are right though, a Protein Drink will work in those situations. When I take a lunch break now I find myself getting bored because I used to spend all that time eating and now after a few bites I'm full.

I started slowly walking on the treadmill at 6 weeks out. My doctor wanted me to take it very slowly and work my way up. A few weeks ago I started lifting a little and doing a circuit. I'm worried about my arms!

I can totally relate - I am a manager and constantly scheduled start to finish in meetings, without time for lunch or Water breaks. I just Ahmad RNY on Monday so I'm nervous about my schedule when I go back, and want to make sure I have enough time and support to eat and drink the way I need to. I had only planned to take 2 weeks off but may work from home for some additional time so I can make sure I start on the right foot.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
