I had sleeve surgery on 12/12 and have been doing well losing weight. I started at 232 lbs so not super large but definitely overweight at 5'6". Since I've been back to work nobody has asked about my weight loss, partially I think it's because I work in an office with quite a few caddy women so god for bid they'd pay anyone a compliment. Anyways, one of our managers came in town yesterday and he looked at me and stumbled a bit, he said "Whit I don't mean to be rude but have you lost a little I mean a lot of weight"? I wanted to kiss him lol finally someone besides my parents said something...it's taken losing 36 pounds but definitely well worth it!!!

Thank you both! It's coming off slowly but surely! I can't complain as my weight definitely didn't come on overnight! I'm in good spirits and not a day goes past that I am not 100% glad I started this journey!

They said at our weight it takes around 30-40 lbs for others to notice I had weight loss once before and I found that to be true as well! We can feel it first before anyone can see it. I definitely felt lighter in my walk even getting out of the tub was way easier! Imagen a gallon of milk I think is about 5 lbs so u just dropped 8 gallons of milk !!! :) awesome feeling isn't it?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
