Perfectly Imperfect: Ashley's VSG Story

Syntax nectar is good...comes in a variety of flavors. It gets foamy when mixed with my bullet but I put it in the fridge at work and drink it midday. Tastes like kool-aid . I like the grapefruit, Twisted cherry and the tropical one.

Went bridesmaid dress shopping this past weekend. I would have usually dreaded this before. Dress that I have on is a 22 (I'm currently an 18) trying to hold it back so you can see the shape. I ordered a 16, but I imagine will have to have it altered anyway since the wedding isn't until November.

Your looking real good in that gown. I bet it felt so good to have to hold in the extra material. I am surprised they didn't put some clips it for you. By Nov you will probably be at goal. I sure hope they can take in all that fabric and make the dress fit you like it should. What a wonderful event to look forward to.

In the first pic it has clips on it. In the second pic I hadn't come out of the dressing room yet for her to clip it. It definitely does feel good and I hope they'll be able to take it in as well. Cause I really don't want to buy another dress! Lol

@@ladycook9713 if you do need to buy another dress that would definitely be a awesome reason.... "Sorry honey I had to buy another dress because the one I got is too big and just falls off of me" lol

My surgery date was 3/25. This amount includes pre-op and 13lbs I lost before I started this process.

I'm currently 216 and my goal weight is 150 so I still have 66lbs to go.

Next milestone is to reach onederland! Only 16.2lbs to go lol

That was March this year, 4 months ago. WOW!!!!! I am now 342 and still have 4 more months of a supervised diet before surgery in 2016 if approved. I am hoping to lose down too the low 300's before surgery so I can get to goal by my 61st birthday in 2017

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
