Weight Gain

Recommended Posts

So I'm going on eight years since my rny lost 164lbs but now I've gained 30lbs trying to go baby steps again to loose the pounds back don't want to go back. Have been keeping track of what I've been doing wrong it's not hunger but just I see munching and I join in. The good thing is that when I do eat solids I get full fast and sneeze from being full and u stop eating sadly it doesn't happen with liquids

WOW 8 Years Post RNY! Good for you!! I am coming up on just two years in June. Maintenance is very hard - at least I am finding it hard. There are so many temptations and so many ways to fall back into bad habits. I have lost 210 pounds and am terrified about regaining. I am using MyFitnessPal.com to track what I eat and I find that tool to be invaluable. I still stick with my all beverages MUST be under 10 calories rule. This has done me well and still allows me to put a Creamer in a cup of tea if I choose to. I also belong to the YMCA and am very active in classes like BodyPump and Zumba. Focusing on getting 10,000 steps EVERY day helps as well and I use a Fit Bit to make sure that I do.

You have discovered the gain, you know where your problems are. Now you just need to put a plan in place to make the changes that will help you to get where you want to be. This you can do! You successfully lost 164 pounds - you CAN get rid of the 30! Find your focus and go for it! YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
