Hello!

I need to hear from those that have contuinued to loose weight after their 1 yr. anniv. I have been STUCK for about 2 months. Even after exercising and eating good, the scales WON'T MOVE!!! i have lost 83 lbs to date, but for the past two months, I have been going up & down with the same 10 lbs! What is worse, is that I am going between 195 & 205. I am now pretty much staying under 200, but it is SO Frusterating to keep loosing the same 5 lbs over & over & over!!!! I am beginning to wonder, is this IT?? Please, share your experiences after a year has passed!!!

OMG, you are totally living my life right now! The only difference is I can't really exercise right now because I am having both knees replaced on June 15th, and right now I'm in a lot of pain...too much to exercise. The exercise will come later when I am in rehab. Anyway, I have been fluctuating within the same 10lbs for the past two months, too! Up and down, up and down...I still do Slim Fast shakes once to twice a day, too! I'll be eagerly watching for advice from others as well!

The same thing has happened to me, I'm just darned lucky I got to goal weight in that time, I didnt have more than about 80lb to lose in the first place.

So I've gotten to a healthy weight but I'd like to be lighter, I'm around the top of my healthy weight range atm, would rather be at the lower end, that's just my build. But I can live with how I am more than happily, so I've just focussed on continuing to live well and healthily and continuing to challenge myself with my running and other exercise.

I think this is fairly common. i have been stuck for about 6 weeks. i was hoping along with the excersize, the added activity during the summer would help but so far I am still stuck. i have been loosing inches tho - pants fit better it is just the scale that does not move. I also hold Water so the scale can fluctuate 5+ lbs in a day. Not good for ones confidence!

I too am in the same situation. I have been battling the same 10 pounds for a month now. I am down 86 sometimes 76 pounds and coming up on my one year mark (June 26).

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
