I am really to strangle someone...

Recommended Posts

I seriously think I am going to strangle my father in law. I know he is looking at porn or something on this dang computer because how in the heck else am I going to all of a sudden be getting 10 billion popups everythime I am online? Is it that damn hard to just go buy a magazine and spend a few minutes in the bathroom like they did in the days before the internet? This is the second computer we have had since he has moved in with us (the first one got some sort of an STD from a porn site and we had to switch it out with the kids computer.) Hmmmm anyone see a pattern here? ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

Hey babygrl, Guys and their porn! Ask your father in law to get his own computer. Just like the sun will rise in the morning, guys will never stop looking at porn. You have given me a good giggle for the morning.:biggrin1:

Put NetNanny on it or some other type of parental monitoring system. If he's going to act like a teenager by sneaking around and looking at porn on other people's computers, treat him like one.

Make sure you run your anti-virus program and a good anti-spyware program such as ad-aware or spybot. Most of the time I find that those damn porn pop-ups are spyware that sneaks onto your computer (and sadly, it doesn't have to be because someone was on a porn site, it piggybacks lots of other stuff). Good luck with that!

And net nanny is a good idea, especially if your kids ever use the main computer....

My husband is quite a fan of on-line porn. This doesn't really bother me. I've worked in a male environment for a long, long time and this does seem to be a guy thing. Most boys like to look. I am, however, very pleased that we don't share computers and, yes, he did get a virtual STD.

If your FIL wants to look then he should have his own PC and he should have a top-notch anti-viral soft ware programme installed in order to protect himself. If he is unprepared or unable to do this then you will have to install a virtual censor or nanny in order to protect your PC and your kids. Those programmes have a nasty way of installing pop ups and Cookies, viruses and worms.

Yeah DH just ran our spyware thing and there were like 96 items that had to be deleted.

This computer we are using right now is actually the one the kids usually use but since the other one was fried (it was pretty old too like 6 yearsish) we had to hook this one up. We have a brand new one but unfortunatly DH built the thing himself trying to save some money and somethng is not working right on it. Once the other one is up and running I am prefectly willing to let him take this and beat off to his hearts content. I just don't want to see anymore popups!!!!

And you definitely don't want to let your kids be ambushed by the pop-ups! Ugh!

I love laurend's answer. Put NetNanny on there and stop the madness!

Hey babygrl, You definately do not want your kids to see anything that they should not. Maybe ask your fil to not use the computer in your home, and if he must ,to go elsewhere to use one.:myscared: Susannah

Yeah, the kids have not been on the computer lately since the weather is nicer now. When they are on there it is only if DH or I are in the room with them. They are only 4 and 6 and probably can't find it themselves but I certainly do not want them seeing any pop ups of an adult kind.

Net Nanny does sound like a good plan.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
