Tummy tuck question

Recommended Posts

The procedure that helps with the butt wrinkles is usualy called a lower body lift. It's a jumbo procedure that includes the "tummy tuck" with a flank and butt lift. I had it not so much because I couldn't live with a a droopy butt, rather that I was very likely to have "dog ears" if I only did a Tummy Tuck. Dog ears are like these little wings you can get on the end of the tummy tuck incision when you have too much extra skin around the back and the two meet quite awkwardly.

First time i heard of a lower body lift, i nearly passed out. Seriously. I had incredibly dreadful visions but I am glad I overcame my fear as it was what i needed.

Reality of it was a long recovery because major plastics are very invasive (people keep underestimating it!). I did not experience much pain, and my results are very pleasing but I am glad it is behind me!

I think you should have a consultation and ask the surgeon what you can expect. I had a Tummy Tuck and then I had my Flanks lip suctioned. I have no issues with lose skin or wrinkles on my butt :)

OP doesnt share stats. However, i lost 160 or so... more like 185 from my lifetime high. That is going to create alot more loose skin then someone who lost less - all other things being equal. A Tummy Tuck does not address sagging skin on butt which I understood to be the question. I didn't need Lipo because I just didn't have fat pockets, but lotsa lotsa skin! I didn't think lipo shrunk the skin but since I didn't have it, I really don't know. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
