Coco6983 1 Posted February 24, 2015 I was wondering if anyone had any issues with insurance going from one bariatric surgery to another, I had the Lapband it slipped, (not from me over eating) I had it taken out about 6 months ago and looking to get gastric bypass... I'm worried my insurance won't approve me... Anyone have any insight? I am on my mothers insurance (I'm 24) and I also have Medicaid her insurance is Anthem Blue Cross Blue Sheild HMO Blue New England and we are from New Hampshire.. I know it depends on the individuals plan but I just wanted to see others issues or success...
goregalore 16 Posted February 24, 2015 I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield through my husband's job here in MO and they cover "medically necessary" revisions with a BMI over 40 or over 35 with co-morbidties. I was able to find out exactly what I needed to be approved to go from lap band to gastric bypass just from Googling "revision requirements Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield". Or you can give them a call.
