catdaddy 232 Posted February 24, 2015 I've seen this subject somewhere else before but I can't find it, perhaps it was on another WLS site. I'm concerned about how much weight I should lose. My personal goal is 165 because of the BMI for someone 5'10". Is this too much? I still have 17 pounds to go but my bones are starting to show. When I told my physical therapist I had that much more to lose he asked me where I plan to lose it. I'm thinking about changing my personal goal because of this and my sister's statement to the same effect. I am to close to meeting two more goals to stop now. I have one more pound to meet my surgeons goal and I have one more pound after that to say I lost one hundred pounds, that would be nice. I've read here that my body will stop losing weight on is own when it's lost enough and I probably should just wait for that but my thought is I can stop losing weight anytime I want. So, how much is to much?
krisstep 31 Posted February 25, 2015 Wow congratulations. I think it is different for everyone. Sometime you can't control it. I think it really depends on what you're comfortable with honestly. I am still new and for me it's been a little over 2 months. My highest weight was 254 surgery weight was 240 I'm down to 212. I feel it's moving a bit slow for me but I am ok with that. It should start picking up as soon as I start exercising which I plan to soon. I hike on the weekends but it's just not enough.
