I hope it worked!

I know it sounds crazy because I know what was done. But does anyone else feel like they just won't believe it will work? I am really not having any problem with food or drinking. I refuse to get on a scale more than once a week because I do not want to be frustrated. My procedure was Feb. 9 -- two weeks ago. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks like this. : (

you arent the only one. My sleeve was Feb10th. Im stuck at 12 pounds lost. I dont see how because I am only eating @600 calories a day and getting all my Protein and Water in. I also have hypothyroidism so I always think it will be harder for me.

My sleeve was January 19 and I've only lost 12 pounds though I lost 23 on the pre op. I gave up weighing every day for 2 weeks and I gained. I'm back to weighing every day. I think it makes me a little more accountable even if the fluctuations are tough to see. I was banded in 2008 and was not successful so yes I do have a lot of anxiety that this won't work for me. But I'm gonna keep at it.

If you are working at staying on program, your sleeve will work for you, but your body is not a machine. It needs to do what it needs to do and will take the time it needs to do it. I know it's hard, but try to give yourself a break and focus on improving your health rather than just losing pounds. That way you will have rewards you can count on, rather than wait for the fickle scale to tell you you done good.

(This is what I'm telling you to do, not what I did. LOL. I stressed and complained for the first month, just like most of us did.)

I feel the same way. I was sleeved four days ago. But, I know that as long as I'm following the plan something has to come odf. My first appointment after surgery is next week, so if lose anything it will ease my mind.

It took about two weeks till after surgery for me to start really dropping weight. Don't get frustrated. It was slow early on for me too. It'll come off. Try and get more calories in. Once I started eating higher calorie foods i started dropping the weight.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
