Burning pain in my upper stomach

I am 5 days post Surgery and I have been up in the middle of the night for the last 3 hours with a burning pain just below my chest in my upper stomach. Is this normal? I had my gall bladder removed a long time ago but the pain reminds me of a gall bladder attack. Any input is appreciated.

Could be acid reflux. That's just about the time when mine started with a vengeance, and I only experienced it at night when I was laying down. I think the horizontal position allowed the acid to flow into my esophagus and throat which caused the "heart burn" pain. But being so close after surgery, you may want to call your doctor's office to get their opinion.

Call your surgeon. By day 5 things should be getting better-- not worse. Better to be safe than sorry.
