Trouble keeping your sips small? Found the PERFECT water bottle to fix my problem!

Recommended Posts

Hey, everyone! I'm officially one month out from being sleeved and while I'm doing well, I seem to struggle with the size of my sips of Water and tea. I try to take small ones, but it doesn't seem small enough. However, I found a water bottle that forces me to take the perfect sized sips!

It's called the Rubbermaid Chug Bottle (which is VERY misleading) and comes in 30 and 20 oz sizes.

I used to use the camelbacks, but in addition to getting just plain gross, they also involve straws which are a no-no.

I treat the opening of the Rubbermaid bottle like a straw in a way, sipping from the spout. I get very little in my mouth this way, but it's really perfect. I've stopped getting nauseated from my big sips!

The large size bottle was around $8 at my local grocery store and cleans easily in my sink or dishwasher, so I'm not really worried about the gunk like what formed in my old CamelBack.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass this along. You can see it online at the link below!

Hope this helps some of you with the same problem! My stomach has been thanking me all day. :P

Side note: I'm a law student. I have no affiliation with this product. I just know it saves me from being REALLY uncomfortable during 2 hr lectures!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
