March 9th is my date. I am excited one second then nerves the next lol. I welcome any advise. I am down that seen receiving my date my family and boyfriend do not seem excited for me. I suppose they have concerns, but their lack of enthusiasm makes me feel reluctant to speak with them about the surgery and my feelings. So, here I am hoping to learn and share with you all.

I wish I had some advice for you! My surgery is in March too...my husband has been supportive all along but mainly b/c he wants his "hot wife" back. My family is just kind of ignoring it....haven't really said much about it. My mom finally did express she was concerned since it was a surgery and I am still her baby and she worries. The few friends I have told have been supportive but I have also been selective about who I tell. Still trying to decide what I tell people at work or if I tell them. I am so sorry you aren't getting more support maybe they are just worried about surgery in general and once the actual surgery is over they will be supportive! Good Luck

Thank you for sharing ????. I know exactly what you mean about co-workers and friends. I'm setting up my short-term disability at work and getting my work done before leaving and I crinch when they ask what's going on is everything ok. I'm just not ready to share or know if I want to...My mother has a friend that had the surgery and she's had many complications, so yes she's very concerned. My boyfriend I believe he's afraid of the changes to come and how they will affect us. I'm excited to take on this difficult but rewarding journey. Please keep in touch since we're having surgery the same month. I start my liquid diet Monday.

I am actually having a hernia repaired during my surgery so I have been thinking about saying it's hernia surgery since that's not lying! Surgery is surgery and there are risks especially if your mom had a friend with troubles. I would just keep reassuring your man things won't change! Good luck with the liquid diet I start my liver shrink diet March 4th

Lol I would say hernia surgery too...Yeah I'll keep reassuring him... I plan to start weight training as soon as I'm cleared to do intense workouts to be "Hot Girlfriend" haha. I want to minimize as such loose skin as I can. Thank you, I wish you a smooth recovery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
