DivergentRavenclaw 8 Posted February 20, 2015 Okay so here I am, two weeks post op and I lost 20 lbs so far thank G-d! I'm 21 years old and mother to one toddler. I need to lose 200 lbs so I know it will be a long journey... I was 180 pounds three years ago, since I'm tall and broad I was not fat but also not skinny. Then I became pregnant and gained 64 lbs...after my baby I tried losing weight. I tried OA, the blood type diet, Atkins...my problem was I would diet binge diet binge diet binge...so for every pound I lost I gained two...one year and a hundred pounds later I started thinking of surgery. I have a lap band , and am ready for the next chapter of my life!

Sharpie 3,306 Posted February 21, 2015 welcome. I think you will find a wealth of information here. There are many long time and successful bandsters here who are always willing to help you with questions and problems. I have had no problems with my band and I am close to my goal. But I always come here for information and inspiration. It is motivating for me to see everyone's success.
gowalking 10,790 Posted February 21, 2015 Don't worry about how much you have to lose. Set small goals and before you know it, you'll see a real difference. I lost more than 150 lbs. and I've been banded two years. Look for those non-scale victories. You'll find plenty and that will help you even if the scale does not go down. In fact, stay away from the scale for a while. It's better that way. Good luck and welcome to the site.
