Why must they give you a surgery date without insurance approval?

Recommended Posts

I am just feeling really nervous now. I just finished up all of my requirements for surgery and got my surgery clearance. Now I have to wait for my surgeon's office to submit to the insurance company and wait for a response. Why bother giving me a surgery date when they may deny? It's so stressful. Ugh. Fingers crossed.

Meryl0707 I don't get that...my surgeon office won't give you a date until you get the insurance approval. The only thing I can think of is if they book up quick you'll have your date. I know it's so frustrating

I got the approval. I called my insurance on another matter and inquired to see if they received the paperwork and they told me they did and I was approved. 24 hours. Pretty relieved.

My surgeon's office books a date while approval is pending because the OR can fill up quickly. It's best to have a date and have to reschedule or cancel than it is to wait and not be able to get a date.

Congrats on getting your date!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
