SIGH! Another trip to Nashville for me AGAIN!!

Recommended Posts

OK when will this end?!!! I just got a call from my mom. My aunt, her sister, just passed away. I am frantically making flight arrangements, hotel arrangements, and car rentals arrangements. SIGH!! Seems I just got back from a trip for a funeral in September when my step-father's dad passed away. Now, my aunt died. It was unexpected and rather shocking to hear. She was in her late 70's and in poor health but she passed away in the ER tonight. It was not expected. I already said that didn't I? SIGH!!

So if you don't hear from me for a day or two that is why. I am taking my laptop but not sure how much I will be using it. I can already feel the love coming through this connection we all have. THank you guys in advance for the support and love.

I will update you as soon as I can. On a plane in the morning heading to Nashville then driving to Princeton, KY about a hour and a half drive for the viewing, if I can make it in time. Otherwise the funeral will be Saturday or Sunday. This woman used to babysit my kids when I worked. She was a pleasure and she will be missed.

Love you all.

Penny I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. It sounds like this person is high in your esteem, so keep those loving thoughts at the fore of your mind. Love can conquer grief, tho grief is healthy for a time.

Hope things get better for you soon.

Penni,

Our prayers and thoughts go with you during your time of need.

When your aunt was born she came into the world crying and her family was smiling. Now the family is crying but your aunts return to the arms of the Beloved One has her smiling.

Greg

You all make me cry. I have felt so much love coming through sometimes it is hard to handle. LOL!! I catch my plane at 11 this morning heading to Nashville then off to Princeton which is another almost two hours. I might not make it to Princeton tonight and my Mom knows this and understands.

I will take Greg's analogy with me and keep it safe.

Love you all

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
