The day is getting closer

Recommended Posts

So tomorrow I am meeting my surgeon and getting the call from the hospital about what time to go in for Thursday. I can't believe the it's only one day away. Thursday February 19 with be my new beginning. Thank you all that have answered my posted and for all of you guys posting thigh out there. I feel like I'm pretty well prepared. I am already lost 9 pounds on the liquid diet which wasn't too bad for me. And I'm already fitting into my clothes differently. Thanks again.

Hi there and congratulations! Whole new chapter beginning....choosing yourself and your healthy future first is such a powerful thing. I love having the appetite monster of my back and being able to make good choices. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Walking really helped kick my body into healing mode. Every time I had to get up to pee I would cruise up and down the hallway, a little further each time. Impress yourself and the nurses!

Thanks so much I'm all about that. Going to impress my self and everyone. This is it. I'm hoping to go back to work Monday and have a whole lot of stairs to walk up a few times a day so Friday I'm going to try stairs. If I can't I can't and I will just see how I'm doing. Looking at everything in a new light and being positive. Thanks for the advice I will take it

I did it. I am not banded. Yesterday was a tough day. I couldn't get comfortable. I couldn't sleep. But the morning I just went and laid on my back in stead of sitting up. I also took my pain meds in the morning (yesterday I was way to nauseous and wasn't drinking). And I slept fine. I'm feeling ok just a little sore. I took my Vitamins and am drink some grape juice mixed with Water. My stomach pains comes in waves, is this normal.

I was banded yesterday as well! I am taking a week off of work...mostly cause I wanted a break. ???? I've eaten several Popsicles and some broth. Overall, feeling decent. The gas pains suck! I went for a nice walk this morning. We can rock this!!

I have been trying to drink my Protein Drink but I'm so not thirsty or hungry. I'm a teacher and what kind of sucks in this is I was hoping to have the surgery monday so I would have had the week off. I go back Monday but I see how I'm feeling. Maybe a popsicle would be better. My throat is a little sore

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
