Doreen 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Hi everyone I've just found this forum and I'm really pleased because I've not told anyone about my surgery except my husband! I had my band fitted in January 2006 when I weighed 14 stones. I was getting married in September and managed to lose 2 stones for that date which was great, but I haven't really lost anything much since then and am now hovering just above 12 stones. I'd like to get to 10 (but would be thrilled with 11). My husband is great most of the time but keeps buying me chocolate for a 'treat' because he sees that I struggle with a lot of other food. Although I'm not losing weight at least I'm not putting any on either, although I do tend to eat small portions of 'proper' food then a big bar of chololate!!!:hungry:
trystelle 3 Posted June 2, 2007 Doreen- Sometimes this is emotionally challenging for our husbands too. Any change, good or bad brings a certain amount of stress. It's important to let your husband know that this is about your health. Reassure him that you want to spend as many long and healthy years with him as possible. Sometimes they feel threatened by the feeling that losing weight will result in your leaving him. It's probably insecurity on his part. Just let him know how much you love him and need him to be an active partner in helping you to live a long and healthy life with him.

Also, we have a UK thread here that provides support also. This is such a great site I'm sure you'll find a spot here where you feel comfortable and can provide the support you need to help you lose more.
