GingerLeAnna 14 Posted February 16, 2015 So I was thinking about buying a piece of clothing as a visual reward/motivation to reach my goal weight. I don't want to buy a swimsuit as that will take more mental preparation on top of just losing weight. Did anyone else do this? Any ideas?
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted February 16, 2015 @@GingerLeAnna Great topic.Rewards have bee an amazing thing. I would love to see everyone's reward ideas. Show them if you got them! (1) New make up/care products. I never took the time to work on my appearance before surgery I paint my toe nails now because I can reach them. (2) Clothing. I treat myself to new workout gear and clothing as my size changed. (3) A new closet. At goal I am now buying clothing pieces that I plan to keep. I love my new organized and decorated closet (4) Participating in events. 10K race, Concerts, vacations,Kayaking lessons, snowshoeing etc..Great rewards and staying active
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted February 16, 2015 So far, all my clothing "rewards" have just been fitting back into clothes I was wearing 3.5 years ago after losing 90 pounds "on my own". I did have a pair of size 12 jeans I bought back then as some goal jeans, but never managed to fit into them before my weight started going back up. So I do hope to be able to fit into those when I'm at goal. I have also seriously been considering buying myself a bathing suit, but I worry I may be setting myself up for disappointment if my loose skin looks horrible once I'm at goal. vsg4missy 19 Posted February 17, 2015 My surgery isn't until 3/5 but I've lost weight in the process. My 1X's are getting really roomy. Today I couldn't resist hitting a thrift store just to look. Well I bought some L's and XL's for $2 and $3. Just some loose fitting tops that would require layering. That's my motivation. Best wishes!
Croaker 26 Posted February 17, 2015 My surgery is next week. I have an event that I go to at the end of March that requires a week of wearing suits. I'm eager to see how they fit when that time comes.
